Vision and Action plan for the Education Ministry
Preamble
The church teaches that promotion of Catholic Education is an integral part of its mission. The diocese should ensure that formal education with all its ramifications be made available to all Catholics.
“For a true education aims at the formation of the human person in the pursuit of his ultimate end and of the good of the societies of which, as man, he is a member, and in whose obligations, as an adult, he will share”. VAT.II (DECLARATION ON CHRISTIAN EDUCATION, 1)
“The Sacred Council of the Church earnestly entreats pastors and all the faithful to spare no sacrifice in helping Catholic schools fulfill their function in a continually more perfect way, and especially in caring for the needs of those who are poor in the goods of this world or who are deprived of the assistance and affection of a family or who are strangers to the gift of Faith”. VAT.II (DECLARATION ON CHRISTIAN EDUCATION, 9)
THE VISION STATEMENT
Promotion of Catholic Education to all the Catholics and to others with emphasis on formation of catholic students in faith and morals and fostering gospel values of brotherly love, justice, equality and harmony among all students of our educational institutions and among all people through the ministry of education with clear option for the poor and the marginalized.
